A Ruby

An almost perfect gem
even in the mined soil

She still wears a hard smile
as her friends struggle to fill the fracture

A radiated joy that cant be devoured or consumed

The music has not stopped,
it’s just a break so I can practice

Those tiny feet are still moving
waiting for me to dance better

One plus one equals three
a third of the equation will sail across every ocean soon

No passport, luggage, tickets
are required anymore

From Queens to Philadelphia
From Puerto Rico to Japan
Her giggling cherry blossom path

will give us clues as to how
to find her six point star again

There’s nothing to be sad about,
this jewel was held by each of us

Now we’ll set her in the pink sky
so she can shine brightly like silk
